What do these Australia Post service changes mean for you?
You may have received an advice from Australia Post regarding some changes they are making to their service offering as of the 2nd April 2017.
From 2nd of April, the current two services will increase to three.
The current service requiring a signature will now default to "Signature On Delivery but Receiver allowed to request ATL", if you wish to use this service in place of the current Signature Required service, then no additional action is required.
However if you do not wish your receivers to request an ATL, then you need to contact our support team to enable a new service that will require a Signature for that shipment.
This means moving forward the new service offering will be:
Current: Sender approved authority to leave (ATL)
ATL/Authority to Leave means driver will leave in a secure place if able
SmartFreight Services: EP STD or EP EXP
Australia Post Service code: 08
Current: Signature On Delivery (Receiver allowed to request ATL)
Where the receiver may amend, the signature required status to ATL whilst shipment in en route
SmartFreight Services: EP STD SIGN or EP EXP SIGN
Australia Post Service code: 02
NEW: Signature on Delivery (No Authority to Leave)
Driver will leave card, take shipment to Post office for collection
SmartFreight Services: EP SIGN NSD or PAR SIGN NSD or EXP SIGN NSD
Australia Post Service code: 03
If you wish to use the service "Signature on Delivery (No Authority to Leave)", you will need to contact the SmartFreight Support team on support@au.smartfreight.com now, as configuration changes to your SmartFreight software will need to be made with you to enable you to use this Australia Post service moving forward.
